Leo Ku Collects Donations From Public
24 May 2008
Leo Ku (古巨基) showed his support for the World Vision Sichuan Earthquake fundraising effort today as he took to the streets of Hong Kong to collect donations on their behalf.
Causing quite a stir as he made his way down Queens Road Central in Hong Kong's Central District, Leo was surrounded by fans, eager to offer their donations. Tourists and locals alike all dipped into their pockets to pull out donations and Leo was very touched when he saw children following their parents' lead and offering their pocket money as well. He said that he was comforted to know that they are receiving a positive message about caring for other people.
A group of nearly a hundred of Leo's fans also followed the entourage, singing one of his songs, with lyrics re-written to encourage people to make donations.
Ending the appearance with a collection box full to the brim, Leo said that he has been extremely upset by the situation in Sichuan following the quake, so he will continue to support the relief efforts to provide the victims with much-needed supplies as well as the long term projects of rebuilding homes and schools.
Leo also revealed that World Vision will be launching a project to sponsor children orphaned by the disaster, so he hoped that everyone will support this worthy cause.
